Karen Padgett - President and Founder

Karen has an MBA from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BS in Microbiology from Indiana University. Karen was Director of Business Development for a small biological company prior to forming Novus.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, golfing and spending time with her family. 

Todd Padgett - CFO

CFO Todd has an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, a CPA and a BS in Finance from Indiana University. Prior to joining Novus in 2000, Todd worked in the telecom and natural gas industry.

Bryan Tinsley - VP Marketing

Bryan has an MBA and a BS in Microbiology from Virginia Tech. Prior to joining Novus in 1998 he worked for a Japanese reagent firm and has 16 years reagent and antibody experience. Bryan enjoys experiencing the outdoors with his family.

Scott Osgood - VP Operations and Technology

Scott has an MBA and a BS in Computer Information Systems from the University of Colorado at Denver. Prior to joining Novus, Scott held senior technology positions at several companies in the Denver area. Scott enjoys spending time with his family and, time permitting, hitting the links.

Zachary Kiebler - VP Strategic Relationship Management

Zach has an MBA from the University of Colorado Graduate School of Business and received his undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He also completed the Bard Center for Entreperneurship's program for entrepreneurial studies. He worked for six years as a professional research assistant in an NIH funded lab. In his free time, Zach enjoys hiking, skiing, and reading.

Andy Walker - European Divisional Manager

Andy holds a BSc in Biotechnology from De Monfort University (UK), an MSc in Biomolecular technology, University of Leicester (UK) and PhD in protein folding from the University of Birmingham (UK). He has also completed post-graduate research in the Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge (UK). Andy was involved in a successful spin-out of a unit from the MRC and has held several commercial management positions with the life science sector. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family and enjoys cricket, rugby and football. He has recently become a Rockies fan.

Alex Campbell - Operations Executive (Novus Europe)

Alex joined Novus straight out of high school, where he studied Math, Biology and Chemistry. After completing a one year internship he has now joined Novus full-time. His main interests are music, playing basketball, watching movies and watching sports, especially the NFL, cricket and tennis.

Amanda Jaramillo - Director of Customer Relations

Amanda has a BA in History with a minor in Political Science from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. Prior to joining Novus, Amanda worked in health care and the legal field. In her spare time she enjoys playing sports and outdoor activities.

Andrea Lentner - Customer Advisor (Novus Europe)

Andrea has a BSc in Economics and Management from the trilingual Free University of Bolzano in Italy. Before joining Novus, she lived and worked in different countries, such as Hong Kong, Italy, Austria and the US. Andrea enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with friends and visiting her family in Austria.

Bill Merritt - Scientific Technical Support Specialist

Bill graduated from Santa Clara University in 2010 with a BS in Bioengineering.  He also enjoys spending time in the mountains during the winter skiing and telemark skiing.  He likes rooting for all Denver sports teams, watching movies, listening to music, mountain biking, and traveling; as well as long strolls on the beach at sunset.

Brandon Kelton - Lead Internal Software Engineer

Brandon Kelton has extensive experience in database and application development and technical support. Prior to Novus, he worked for medical hardware and software supplier McKesson where he designed and developed a training, risk, and quality management application now used throughout the company. He is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Outside of work he enjoys going out with friends, watching the new Battlestar Galactica, spending time with family, going to movies, and playing with his dogs.

Cade Bertrand - Strategic Relationship Management Associate

Cade is a CU Boulder Alumni with a degree in biochemistry and molecular/cellular biology.  Prior to coming on board here at Novus, he spent 3 years with an environmental lab in Boulder, an environmental remediation firm in Golden and a hazardous waste firm in Denver.  He has a passion for home brewing, skiing, mountain biking, and all things sustainable.

Carol Dauer - International Shipping

Carol was born and raised in Minnesota and moved to Colorado in 2008.  She's been a shipping/receiving specialist for 3 years and plans on starting online classes for Logistics in the fall.  She's a workaholic, but in her free time and weekends she enjoys skiing during the winter and camping/fishing and soaking up the rays during the summer months.  She enjoys anything outdoors and extreme.

Celina McDuffee - Office Administrator (Novus Canada)

Celina was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. She has been an Administrative Assistant for over 7 years in the legal industry and holds a diploma in Travel/Tourism. Celina brings with her a vast knowledge of office administration and event planning. On her days off, Celina enjoys spending time with her family traveling, camping, fishing and geocaching. Celina also has a love for music, movies and making monster toys from her home.

Chad Mills - Data Integrity Specialist

Chad graduated from the University of Kansas in 2009 with a BS in Biochemistry. Before joining Novus, he worked for a non-clinical contract pharmaceutical laboratory, and at the University of Kansas Medical Center as a Research Assistant, within the cancer center in Kansas City, KS. In his free time Chad enjoys hiking, disc golf, concerts and a good book.

Chandra Gottschling - Product Director

Chandra has a BS in Biology with a Minor in Economics from the University of New Mexico. She has been with Novus since 2005 working as a Research Associate, Project Manager and Product Director. Chandra enjoys reading, snowboarding, camping, and spending time with her family.

Charlotte Milnes - Business Development & Marketing Executive (Novus Europe)

Charlotte has a MSc in Zoology from the University of Durham and a MRes in Molecular Physiology from the University of Liverpool, she is currently studying for a MSc in Intellectual Property Management at QMUL,  London. Prior to joining Novus Charlotte worked as a product manager for a U.K based distributorship and has also held positions in business development and technical support at a medium sized biotechnology company. In her spare time Charlotte enjoys the outdoors, spending time with friends and travelling.

Chris Hutton - Desktop Support Analyst

Chris is from Laramie, Wyoming where he worked for the University of Wyoming as a Computer Support Specialist.  He specialized in  Desktop Support and worked on the the Databases.  In his free time, he enjoys tinkering with his car and drag racing at Bandimere.  He also enjoys hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.  He is also a Bronco and Avalanche fan.

Corey Collins - Marketing Assistant

Corey graduated in 2011 from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a B.S. of Business Administration in Marketing. Corey played college baseball and is an avid sports fan. Off the field and in his spare time Corey enjoys the outdoors and loves spending time with family and friends.

David Kuroki - Research Assistant

David has a BA in Biology from Oberlin College. Before joining Novus in 2008 David worked as a research scientist at the University of Minnesota for a number of years. In his free time he enjoys reading, origami and crossword puzzles.

David Sedan-Bradley - Domestic Shipping

David has six years experience in the shipping/receiving industry. In his free time he enjoys all things outdoors, softball, soccer, golf and pretty much anything that keeps him active.

David Stegemeier - Product Marketing Specialist

David has a BS in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry from Santa Clara University. Prior to joining Novus, he worked as a technical support representative for a small biological company. In his free time, David enjoys living life to its fullest.

David Walden - Operations Executive (Novus Europe)

David has been in the customer service industry for the last 15 years working in the prestige market. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family and making furniture.

Emily Jimmerson - Software Engineer

Emily holds a degree in computer science with minors in biology and anthropology. Prior to joining Novus, she worked in the financial services industry as a software engineer, but she has always loved biology. The move to Novus combines the best of both fields, and biotech has been a great fit. Emily enjoys spending time with her dog, singing, taekwondo, kick boxing and skydiving.

Eric Neeley, PhD - Lab Director/Senior Scientist

Eric received his B.S. from the University of Florida, and his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Colorado Denver.  In addition to his lifetime love of science, he enjoys spending time with his family and the outdoors, as well as finding new hobbies.

Geoff Loadman - Accounting Manager

Geoff was born in London, England. He graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a Bachelors in Accounting and Finance. Geoff lived in the Cayman Islands for 2.5 years, before moving to the US in 2008. Outside of work, Geoff enjoys all sports and everything else Colorado has to offer.

Hamna Chaudhry - Technical Customer Support (Novus Europe)

Hamna graduated in 2010 with a degree in Biology from Queen Mary University of London. In her spare time she likes to be out and about with family and friends, in particular going to different restaurants, walking along the beach and generally being outdoors. She also enjoys going to the gym, photography and exploring new places. 

Janet Whiting - Purchasing Specialist

Janet is currently working toward receiving her Bachelors in Business Administration with a minor in marketing from Regis University. Janet also works part-time as a realtor.  Previously, she worked for a graphics company in Fort Collins, CO. She likes to spend her free time with friends and family, hiking with her dog, snowboarding, and traveling.

Jennifer Oldenborg - Human Resources Administrative Executive

Jennifer has two Bachelor Degrees (Northern Arizona University – Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Colorado Christian University – Human Resource Management). She was employed on the management staff of Pappadeaux’s Seafood Kitchen in the Denver Tech Center and Westminster. While not relaxing at home cuddling with her two cute dogs, she enjoys singing (weddings, Pro Sporting Events, and Military Ceremonies), painting, skiing, traveling, reading, watching sports (huge hockey fan!),and spending time outside enjoying the beautiful state of Colorado. 

Jill Jenkins - Research Associate

Jill received a BS in Biology with a minor in Molecular Biology from New Mexico State University. Prior to coming to Novus, she worked in customer service, but always had a love of science. In her spare time she likes to play tennis, hike, listen to live music, read a good book or play with her dog Shay and cat Finnegan.

Joanna Szulimowski - Technical Customer Service Specialist (Novus Canada)

Joanna has an MSc in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Western Ontario.  After graduate school she moved to the US and worked as a research scientist at Rutgers University for several years.  She is excited to be back in Canada and working at Novus.  Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, doing anything outdoors and traveling.

John Sereda - Strategic Relationship Management Assistant

John has a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. Prior to join Novus Biologicals John spent some time at Sirna Therapeutics in Boulder with the dermatology group. John enjoys spending his free time with his wife, hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter.

Josh Youmans - Domestic Shipping

Josh has 12 years experience in the logistics industry.  During his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, playing softball, golfing and hiking.

Julie Nishida - Accountant I

Julie has a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Spanish from Colorado State University.  She joined the staff at Novus Biologicals in 2008.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, spending time with her husband, three kids, and two dogs, and loves traveling.

Katie Harbison - Customer Service Representative

Katie has a BA in Psychology with a minor in Biology from the University of Denver. Prior to joining Novus, Katie worked in the physical therapy and teaching fields. In her free time she enjoys running, reading and other outdoor activities.

Kendra Repstine - Financial Report Manager

Kendra has been working with Novus for the past seven years. She also has been attending Arapahoe Community college for the past two years working towards her Accounting degree. Kendra worked in early childhood education before joining Novus. She enjoys spending her weekends with her family wakeboarding at the lake, camping and watching the Denver Broncos.

Kim Mesman - Marketing Manager/Graphic Design

Kim holds a BFA in Graphic Design and a Minor in Business Management from Louisiana Tech University. Prior to joining Novus in 2005, Kim was a freelancer and designer for various companies in the U.S. Born and raised in the south, she is a die hard New Orleans Saint/LSU fan and loves anything outdoors, sports, traveling, beaches, vintage shopping, transforming old furniture, pomeranians, fleur de lis, happy hours and pretty much any creative hobby available.

Laurence Lamarcq - European Business Development Executive (Novus Europe)

Laurence holds a Ph.D. in Medical and Biological Engineering from the University Joseph Fourier, Grenoble in France as well as a BSc and MSc in Cell and Molecular Biology from the same University. She completed 2 post-doctoral studies in the USA, at the University of Hawaii and at the University of California San Francisco. She worked for Clontech (TakaraBio) as an R&D Scientist in the Genomics and Cell Biology teams and as a Product Manager both in Mountain View, California and later in Paris, France. She also worked as a Technical Support Specialist for Ambion in Cambridge, UK and as a Key Account Manager for Roche Diagnostics. She loves traveling, outdoor activities with her 9 year old son and riding her YZF 600 Thundercat motorbike.

Laurie Gilman - Assistant Controller

Laurie has a BA from the University of New Mexico in Finance and Accounting and is a CPA. Prior to joining Novus, Laurie worked in the real estate industry and public accounting. Outside of work, Laurie enjoys spending time with family, hiking and running.

Leah VanderMeer - Production Assistant

Leah has a BS in Biochemistry and a minor in Nutrition from Colorado State University, she has always been passionate about science. Before working at Novus, Leah volunteered at a youth detention center for 6 months to plan and demonstrate hands-on cooking classes to promote home cooking and healthy eating.  In her free time she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, skydiving, dancing, and relaxing with a good book.

Lindsey Buffy - Accountant I

Lindsey started her career in Accounting with Novus Biologicals.  Previous to starting at Novus in 2007, she was working for Arapahoe county Probations as a Case Aid.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, traveling, and trying out new restaurants.

Marley Shipps - Research Assistant

Marley holds a BS in Biology from Colorado State University.  Marley worked in the lab for seven years as a professional research assistant in Cellular and Molecular biology.  Marley also spent a year as the Director of Marketing for a small Boulder, Colorado based chiropractic office prior to her career in antibody technical support.  In her free time, you can most likely find Marley running on the track or trail.  Otherwise, she enjoys spending time with her horse, Dakota, Siamese cats Bamboo and General Tso or climbing and mountaineering with husband, Joe.

Meggie Buckley - International Customer Service Representative

Meggie joined Novus in 2006 to handle customer service relationships. Prior to joining Novus Meggie lived in San Diego working for a pharmaceutical company. Meggie has attended courses at Metro State University. In her spare time Meggie enjoys going to Bronco games and traveling.

Michael Miller - Web Developer

Michael attended Oregon State University and graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science.  Upon graduating, he contracted to both Google and Hewlett-Packard.  He then moved to Phoenix to work for a web development company, named Zenuity, and married his lovely wife, Jessica.  He now happily works at Novus Biologicals and is excited to be living in Denver, Colorado, where he can once again take up snowboarding, golf, and various other outdoor activities with his wife and two dogs.

Monica LaHaye - Licensing Manager

Monica has a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  Prior to joining Novus, Monica worked as a Licensing Coordinator at a biotechnology company in California.  In her spare time, Monica enjoys snowboarding, hiking, traveling and cooking.

Nicole Widmer - Accountant II

Nicole has a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Spanish from the University of Denver.  Prior to working at Novus, she was an accountant and financial analyst in the real estate industry.  In her spare time she enjoys camping, snowboarding, rock climbing, reading, crafts, and completely spoiling her niece.

Rachel Giesler - Scientific Technical Support Manager

Rachel has a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Biochemistry and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.  She joined Novus in 2008 as an intern while completing her MBA at the University of Denver.  Following graduation she joined the Novus team full-time.  In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Rob Kunz - Systems Administrator

Rob has a BS in Management Information Systems from Oregon State University. Prior to joining Novus, Rob worked IT, Support and Engineering with Intuit, M2M Datacorp, and Symantec Corp. In his spare time, Rob enjoys spending time with his son, snowboarding, playing guitar, music, movies, sports and traveling.

Sam Garcia - Research Assistant

Sam has a BA in Biology and Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Prior to working at Novus, she was a research assistant at a small biological company. Outside of work, Sam enjoys dancing, hiking, writing and listening to music, and photography.

Sean Brunner - Search Engine Marketing Specialist

Sean holds a BS in Business Administration from Colorado State University.  Sean has experience developing and executing niche online marketing strategies.  In his spare time, Sean enjoys hiking, cycling and spending time with his family and friends.

Shelly Mostue - Strategic Relationship Management Associate

Prior to starting at Novus in 2009 Shelly worked in medical records at a hospital for eight years.  In her free time Shelly enjoys cooking and hanging out with her son, Anthony.

Stephanie Peacock - Director of Marketing

Stephanie received her BA in Biochemistry from University of Colorado and an MBA from San Jose State University.  Prior to joining Novus, Stephanie worked for over 10 years in sales and marketing for several Biotech companies.  Stephanie enjoys skiing, running, and attending her children’s various sporting events.

Subhash Gangar - Customer Technical Support Scientist

Subhash received a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with focus on Experimental Cancer Biology from Panjab University Chandigarh (India) and then he did post-doctoral training at Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Colorado Denver. Besides attending professional development programs, in his free time, he enjoys reading, movies/documentaries and outdoor activities with his beloved wife as well as his one year old princess Sashi.  

Terri Howard - Order Entry Clerk

Prior to Novus, Terri worked in a Veterinary office for 8 years and intermittently in Customer Service/data entry for 14 years.  Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her dogs, cats, birds and horses.  She is also a Denver Broncos fan and enjoys walking, keeping active and laughing.

Tim Collamore - ERP Operations Specialist

Tim graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 2010 with a BA in Business.  His favorite activities are playing basketball and golf, watching movies, and hanging out with friends and family.  He also loves rooting for all Denver sports teams.

Todd has 12 years experience in regional operations in regards to distribution and transportation. In his spare time Todd enjoys playing basketball, softball and golf. Todd also enjoys jeeping with his family.

Uzma Qureshi - Strategic Relationship Management Associate

Uzma holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Colorado Denver. Prior to Novus, Uzma worked for National Jewish Health and University Hospital as a Student Research Assistant. Vickie Conroy - Accounting Assistant

Prior to joining Novus Biologicals, Vickie spent 13 years as a life and health insurance underwriter for Western Farm Bureau. After having children she worked part-time as an Educational Assistant for Douglas County School Districts for 11 years. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, playing golf and watching sports.

Wendy Johnson - Marketing Assistant

Wendy has a BA in Business Administration and Accounting from Augustana College, IL. Wendy loves the Colorado mountains and spends her free time enjoying all sports with her family.

Zach Brooks - Web Developer

Zach has been developing websites since high school.  Starting with a fascination with HTML, he branched out quickly in more robust programming languages.  In his free time he enjoys reading, drawing, cooking and spending time with friends.
